Mr. Simon Roberts has been appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer, Hardware and Lumber Ltd. effective November 1, 2009.  He will transition to the GKInvestments Division from the position of General Manager, GraceKennedy Logistics Services, following a twelve year career in foods services.

Simon joined the company as Technical Services Manager of the Food Trading Division in 1997, and has since held various senior management positions including General Manager, National Processors Ltd. and General Manager, Grace Food Processors (Canning) Ltd. During his tenure he has consistently demonstrated a keen aptitude for excellence and innovation in the execution of his leadership roles.

Simon earned his Master of Applied Sciences degree from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada, where he majored in Management Sciences. He also earned his Bachelor of Applied Sciences degree from the University of Toronto, and is experienced in the areas of Total Quality Management (TQM), Supply Chain Management, Warehouse Management, Marketing, Negotiating, Purchasing, and Compensation Design.

He currently serves as Chairman of the Jamaica National Agency for Accreditation and Vice-President of the Jamaica Manufacturers’ Association (JMA).
